Why did you choose architecture as your career?

I have always had a love of buildings, how they are constructed and the creativity that goes along with it.

Why did you choose to open up your business in Burlington?

I came back to Burlington to help my dad on the family farm. But I didn’t want to give up my love of architecture. After moving back, I found out that there was a dire need of building design in the rural areas and so my business was formed.

What are you most excited for in regard to this business?

I am always excited to meet new clients and I love the challenge of designing a home that will fit their needs and personality.

What is your go to karaoke song?

Oh man, to pick one song is really hard. I love music and you will catch me singing often if I’m working at my desk. But my karaoke song would have to be Kangaroo Court by Capital Cities.

Tell me about your family.

I have a large Catholic family. There were 9 of us Pekarek kids. We all grew up working hard on the family farm. That is the tie that binds us all together, but that is also what makes us all so independent and self-reliant. As for my own family, we are very active and love to compete and outdoor activities.

What do you like to do for fun or in your free time?

When I do actually take time off, I love to go to the mountains: camp, mountain bike, hike and go off-roading with a four-wheeler.
