ne of the best things about this property was the location on the golf course, the view beyond the golf course and the slope of the land. So, I bermed the house into the land and created a 2 story house with a walk out deck & basement patio in order to take advantage of these gorgeous views. The client liked both modern houses and santa-fe style houses. So, we created a modern santa fe house with a shed room, timber posts and wood lined deck roof.



A unique project like this doesn't come without it's challenges. With the house being bermed into that hillside and the other side being a 2-story structure, figuring out the front door and garage location was tricky. My client also wanted a "feet first" house. That's a house where he can live his whole life, until they carry him out feet first. So, we made the main level (upper level) accessible without any steps in the garage.


Revit is our 3D modeling / construction document software we use. It comes in SO handy for projects like this. We are able to measure the grade of the land and model that in Revit. So, we are able to show the clients exactly what they house will look like before construction ever starts.
