ith a growing business and family, it was time to start thinking about upgrading to something bigger. The Stevens' family, who have five growing kids and a thriving dog breeding business, knew it was time for a bigger house and to find more space for the business and dogs.
The Stevens' were living in an old farmstead house and just really needed more room for everyone. They wanted a good-sized pantry, a loft space for the kids, a relaxing master suite to unwind, a private office, mudroom, a second floor for the kids' bedrooms, and a deck. Most of all, they wanted a practical farmhouse that was all-in-all, home. Already owing the land surrounding the existing house, they decided to start fresh. With building a new home, the Stevens' were able to convert the farmstead house into office space for the dog business and also provided more space for the dogs to roam. Plus, they got to design their dream home where they could make new memories.
The Steven's opted for carpet in the bedrooms and wood floors throughout the rest of the house. Also, they settled on a neutral color palette with pops of copper for accents. All-in-all, the Stevens' were able to utilize the old farmstead for office space and got more room for the dogs and also got to build their new house that is officially, home.
